Leadership and Performance Coach

Irene has approximately 35 years in policing, training and education. She started her career with the Peel Regional Police for 15 years. Irene then held several positions during her 22 plus years as an A/Chief Instructor, instructor and skills facilitator. She has designed and delivered training to officers at all levels in the areas of Evidence and Criminal Law, Sexual Offences and Crimes Against Children Investigations, Professional Practice, Coach Officer Training, Mental Health and numerous Leadership subjects.

Irene has a Master of Sciences in Human Resource Management. She has recently completed certification as a Leadership and Performance Coach. In addition to her undergraduate degree in Law and Psychology, she also has several certifications related to the subjects of Advanced Leadership, mindfulness and positive psychology from Dalhousie, McMaster and Wilfrid Laurier Universities. She has been qualified as a Master Trainer for several programs where she evaluated new trainers for certification.

Throughout her career Irene has authored numerous articles, given keynotes and conference presentations, conducted several innovative research projects and applied strategic planning initiates to introduce new projects to police education.  She has facilitated training internationally, United States, Bolivia and Hungary, on various law enforcement subjects. As an FBI Leadership Fellow and Visiting Scholar she developed and facilitated training for international police executives, completed the FBI LEEDA program and guest presented for FBI LEED.

Since retirement Irene has continued her work with various international leadership programs. Through her Leadership and Performance Coaching she provides individual attention to those who are interested in challenging their perspectives while setting personal and career goals. Her current interests are multifaceted including positive psychology, professional practice, psychologically safe workplaces and human resources specific well-being practices.
