The curriculum was so well thought out and I really enjoyed the conversation and participation by the class and instructors. The 80/20 HEROES utilizes is great to facilitate the class and promote interaction. The PACT is a great way to get more information and allows you to have a plan or path to help you get to your end goal of intervening. We currently use something similar at the academy when we’re attempting to get the inmate population to comply. We use ask, explain, present options and act. As basic as those can be, I believe they can be extremely effective.
Once again I just wanted to thank you guys again for a great class. I feel like I took a lot from the training and hope I can pass it on within our department. I’m not sure if there’s a way I can get more involved with the program but if there is please let me know. I would love to be involved anyway possible especially pertaining to corrections. I believe this is a good thing and I hope to see HEROES continues to grow.
