Chinere (Cece) Jenkins has distinguished herself as a dedicated member of law enforcement. Rising to the position of Assistant Commander of the Special Investigations Division at the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office, at the rank of Detective Sergeant. Over the course of 17 years, Cece has immersed herself in a range of roles, whether meticulously investigating crime scenes, working in the fugitive warrants division, patrol, supporting court services, or shaping the next generation of officers at the Passaic County Police Academy.

Driven by a passion for improvement and education, Chinere embraced opportunities to instruct on a national scale. In 2021, she became a National Instructor for the ABLE project, and just two years later, she joined the Heroes program, both of which are designed to foster accountability, reduce mistakes and misconduct, and highlight the importance of mental health in policing. In her pursuit of excellence, she completed extensive training as an FBI Trilogy recipient, a testament to her expertise in leadership, crisis intervention, and media relations.

Chinere’s commitment reaches beyond her official duties. As the NJ Law Enforcement LGBTQ Liaison and Bias Crimes liaison, she stands for fairness and inclusion at the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office. Her enthusiasm for mentorship continues at William Paterson University, where she volunteers as an instructor for the Pre-Police Academy and Pesce Family Mentoring Institute. In 2025, this spirit of empowerment led her to serve as a board member of Leading Young Women, further amplifying her influence and dedication in the community.

Chinere holds two degrees from William Paterson University: a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Criminology. Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Leadership, and will begin a Doctorate in Public Administration in the fall of 2026.

At the heart of Chinere’s work lies a deep-rooted commitment to advocacy, social action, and service that extends far beyond her professional sphere. Balancing her career and her devotion to family, she is a loving wife and proud mother to three remarkable children: Raye, Harper, and Hunter.
